Ascot is the premier destination for racing this weekend, and we expect to see the top festival chances strutting their stuff on the Berkshire course. Over at AppBet we’ve taken a look at the top chances on the cards to help you pick out your best bets.
De Dollar Man
We’re quite surprised that Evan Williams trained De Dollar Man is 7/1 going into this race having picked up two victories under orders already this season. Starting the season strongly in a National Hunt Flat race, he won his last outing at Ayr by seven lengths over a longer distance than today’s race and should be one to watch here.
Label Des Obeaux
With a strike rate of 17% this season it’s hard to ignore Alan King, and he will be looking to continue that here at Ascot with 7/2 chance Label Des Obeaux. Winning his last outing a Ludlow by thirteen lengths to his nearest rival he has steadily improved this season, and we expect another strong performance here.
Air Horse One
Harry Fry’s low strike rate of 11% can’t continue the for the rest of the season, can it? Well, one horse that can potentially turn that around is six-year-old Air Horse One who is currently 5/1 in the betting. Winning his last two races despite being upped in weight and upped in distance last time out at Taunton, he goes for a hat-trick at Ascot and could land another victory.
The Colin Tizzard trained eleven-year-old is out and out favourite for this race and priced at 4/11 you would be hard pressed to bet against him taking the victory here. Winning the Betfair Chase earlier this season, he steps down in trip at Ascot, potentially giving us some indication as to where he could end up at Cheltenham.
